Laser Engraving
Laser engraving is the process of etching or marking the surface of a product. The product is placed on a flat surface within the laser engraving machine. A laser sits directly above the product and the laser beam is focused on the surface of the item. Then, the laser moves back and forth at a high rate of speed to mark or etch the surface of the item. Lasers can engrave a variety of materials, and they can also be used for cutting.
Laser Engraved Plastic
Laser Engraved Name Tags, Desk Plates and More
Many of our plastic name tags are laser engraved as well as many of our desk plates. Our plastic engraving material comes in a variety of colors. Each color combination features a unique core color and surface color. The surface color is etched away during the laser engraving process to reveal the core color underneath.

Acrylic displays a frosted appearance once it has been etched in a laser engraver. Awards and desk blocks are just a few examples of acrylic products that can be laser engraved. The laser engraving process provides a truly unique appearance on acrylic. Acrylic can also be cut into custom shapes.
Preparing Your Artwork for Laser Engraving
Vector format is preferred. This includes .ai (Adobe Illustrator), .cdr (CorelDraw), .eps or .svg.
Black and white artwork is required, as laser engraving software can only read black or white. If you don’t have black and white artwork, we can convert some file types to black and white.
We can laser engrave most gradients and shadows. This is accomplished by varying the intensity of the laser beam and the speed of the beam as it moves back and forth across the product.
What is a gradient?
An example of a gradient would be the sky at sunset. How it fades from a dark blue to orange.
